For children ages 4-8 who might already be attending a preschool, kindergarten, or elementary school or are being home-schooled, we have an afternoon program available at Tinkerseeds. Our Story Workshop is a two-part English language arts program for children from ages 4-6 (Story Workshop I) up to elementary students in grades 1-2 (Story Workshop II).
Our English language-immersion environment is led by native English-speaking teachers. Children will be introduced to various art materials, found items, and toys to "find their stories." We will build on their English language and literacy skills through sharing their own stories and exploring the ideas and words within them as projects.
Story Workshop takes our innovative and popular Pre-Primary program and reimagines it into a creative language arts enrichment program for the afternoons. Students will explore the use of language and art as expressive and meaning-making tools. Story Workshop is a play- and art-based educational experience balanced with an effective, personalized approach to building literacy skills covering phonics, speaking, reading, and writing.
Students meet three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM. Only children ages 4-8 are eligible to enroll. Schedule a parent information session to find out more about the Story Workshop Program.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, we host online parent information sessions on most Tuesday and Thursday afternoons by appointment only. Parents will get a chance to see our environment, learn about our approach to education, and get information about tuition and class schedules. The information sessions last about 30 minutes. Parents will have the opportunity to ask questions to learn more about us.
